Today, indoor or outdoor wooden floors play a central role in furnishing the home spaces. The best-known designers and architects rely without hesitation on these types of flooring, thanks to the undoubted lasting performances achieved and the undeniable charm given by the different essences and finishes available on the market. In places where you need to bring down the risk that a trigger of any kind would result in a fire, it is advisable to use coating or furnishing materials that have a selfextinguishing behavior, that is to say that once the trigger is removed, the combustion ceases. In order to meet the increasing demand from the market of products with these characteristics, Sirca R&D Dept has developed and created a waterborne clear system able to confer the fire retardant characteristic to the coated wooden floor, according to EN13501 Europan standard. The proposed clear matt coating system is waterborne and involves the application of:
- One coat of the bicomponent spray grade WITB70PRIMER sealer, featuring excellent sandability and coverage
- One coat of the bicomponent spray grade WITB70TOPG10 matt topcoat, gloss 10, with excellent resistances to abrasion and scratching and excellent grain definition
The aforementioned system, applied according to the quantities indicated in the related TDS, achieved the Bfls1 fire reaction class from an accredited external laboratory.
